PROFILE FABRICS - CARE & ADVICE

CARE LABEL A
REGULAR CARE: Protect from direct sunlight, rotate reversible cushions regularly, vacuum regularly using low suction and soft brush accessories.
GENERAL CLEANING: Hot water extraction machine method, professionally cleaning strongly recommended. Use only proprietary brand upholstery detergent; do not use dishwashing or laundry detergent. Do not wet filling for pile fabrics. Gently vacuum to restore pile, dry in shade away from direct heat and sunlight, allow to dry thoroughly before re-use.
OR
ON SITE DRY CLEANING MACHINE METHOD: Professional cleaning only, do not wet filling with solvent. Extract solvent thoroughly after application. Do not scrub with stiff brush, caution exhaust solvent vapour outside building. Provide adequate ventilation during cleaning and drying. Allow to dry thoroughly before re-use, avoid use of room during drying period.
OR
SHAMPOO METHOD: Use proprietary brand upholstery shampoo, do not use dishwashing or laundry detergent, do not wet filling, do not scrub with stiff brush. For file fabrics gently vacuum to restore pile. Dry in shade and away from direct heat and sunlight. Allow to dry thoroughly before re-use.
SPOT CLEANING: Treat spills and stains as soon as possible. Gently scape any soil or mop any liquid from the surface of the fabric. Do not scrub with stiff brush, apply proprietary brand cleaning agents strictly according to instructions, test on inconspicuous after. Before use do not saturate the fabric or filling with water or other cleaning fluids. Maybe spot cleaned with dry cleaning solvent, reverse cushions regularly.
PILLING: Can occur occasionally as a result of normal daily wear and should not be considered as a fault. Fibre pills can be removed by a battery operated pilling tool available from most haberdashery stores.

CARE LABEL W
Spot clean only with water based shampoo or foam upholstery cleaner. Pre-test a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding. Do not overwet. Do not use solvents to spot clean. Pile fabrics may require brushing with a non-metallic, stiff bristle brush to restore appearance. Hot water extraction or steam cleaning is not a recommended cleaning method. Cushion covers should not be removed and laundered. To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing with a non-metallic, stiff bristle brush to remove dust and grime is recommended. When cleaning a spill, blot immediately to remove spilled material. Clean spots or stains from the middle of the affected area to prevent circling. Use a professional furniture cleaning service when an overall soiled condition has been reached.

CARE LABEL P – PLATINUM
CARE AND CLEANING: Wipe with a clean cloth dampened with mild detergent solution. Wipe with a clean cloth dampened with water to remove Residual detergent. Dry in shade away from direct heat. A soft bristle brush may be used to remove ingrained soil. Avoid scratching by gentle brushing. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep at a minimum of 30cm away from direct heat source. Do not clean with hot water extraction machine. Do not wet excessively. Do not use abrasive powder to past cleaners.
SPOT CLEANING: Clean as above. Persistent marks may need solvents. Check the effect of any solvents on a hidden area of cover.

CARE LABEL 6 (drapery)
For use on acrylic foam back fabrics and flock coated fabrics of both man-madefibres and cotton. Regular care will minimize the need for additional cleaning. Gently vacuum with appropriate attachment. Always exercise caution when spot cleaning. Test cleaning on non-exposed surface. Avoid excessive rubbing and abrasion. Remove hooks, rings and trims before cleaning.
Cleaning – Possible shrinkage 3%
Dry-cleaning – Use specialist curtain drycleaners as recognized by the Soft Furnishings Industry Association of Australia Inc.
For Perchloroethylene – Solvent temperature 18-20°C. No moisture, gentle cycle, moderate loading (approximately 50%capacity) to minimise mechanical action.
One Bath Dry-cleaning Procedure – 3 minutes passing through the filter, reduced mechanical action, 2 minutes drain to tank or still, 2 minutes extract to tank or still.
Two Stage Dry-cleaning Procedure – 25 minutes drying at 55°C, then 6 minutes drying at 35°C. Deodorise 6 minutes or until curtains are cool.
For White Spirit or Hydrocarbon – Standard cleaning practices are appropriate. Hang curtains upon removal from machine. Do not iron/press coated side. Warm iron/press on fabrics side only.
Washing – Curtains are heavy when wet. Professional wet cleaning recommended.
Do not wash in domestic washing machine – Hand wash in cool to warm water (max. 40°C). Mild detergents such as wool mixes are recommended. Do not bleach, soak, rub or wring. Drip dry in shade. Do not tumble dry. Hang curtains by their hooks to avoid coated sides touching. Do not use pegs. Do not fold curtains over clothes lines. Do not iron/press on fabric sides. Warm iron/press on fabrics side only.
